Ben Brooker, NSF Managing Director, worked as a resin floor layer for 18 years prior to joining the management team of Northern Star. Ben has managed flooring projects around the world, and his approach is that if you consistently achieve fantastic results on site, you will always be a busy contractor!
A Nationwide Contractor
Northern Star Flooring Limited (NSF) is an experienced resin flooring contractor from the North of England. But we are not limited geographically to the customers where we can add value and assistance to. We are able to carry out nationwide site surveys, be responsive for time sensitive projects and audits; and price highly competitively from our Yorkshire base.
Some of our largest customers, such as Hovis, will employ us to work across all of their sites. We enjoy building long term relationships, understanding site requirements, and becoming a part of your building maintenance team.
Our Business is 10 Years in the making…
Northern Star was established on 1st August 2009. Originally named Vuba Flooring Limited, Northern Star shared much of it’s administration with sister company Vuba Building Products Limited. However, as the years progressed, and Vuba has gone on to become a worldwide manufacturer of resin flooring and surfacing products; Vuba Flooring was renamed to Northern Star Flooring to show our dedication to it as its own separate business unit.
As founder Sean Scott moved on to Vuba, Ben Brooker was installed as Managing Director, along with Aaron Scott as Senior Project Manager. Ben and Aaron have gone on to buy out majority ownership of the business, and NSF is owner operated – with a management team capable of going to install floors where required, and drive the quality and ethos of the business from the ground up.
More than a Flooring Contractor…
Northern Star Flooring Limited does still share resources with Vuba, and as such benefits from an in house technical team and chemist. In addition, NSF has access to enormous amounts of stock and additional labour resources. This combines to put NSF in a position like no other contractor – the advantage of being a small, responsive owner operated Specialist Industrial Flooring Contractor; whilst benefiting from the resources of a large resin manufacturer.
And as such, we can help with supply of materials to our customers who may want to carry out some floor painting or concrete repair tasks in house. We’re always on hand for technical advice and help – our aim to is to add value and help at every step of the way.

We continually invest in the training of our team. We believe in nurturing talent, creating a positive culture, and investing time and effort into our main asset which is our people. Northern Star enjoys a ‘can do’ culture throughout the business – we are not your typical contractor.
Our dedication to training is best exemplified by our recent enrolment in the CITB Scheme. Our staff are regularly put through training, in general site management. Health and safety and skill specific flooring training.
